Description
The Waterloo Monument, dated 1816, is a tall circular structure that tapers in diameter and is set back over a plinth and ground floor. It is constructed from white granite rubble. The monument features a south-facing door that leads to an internal wheel stair, with a hood-moulded red ashlar plaque located in the stage above and a continuous string course above that. Additionally, there are small rectangular window openings with splayed reveals at each of the four levels, facing three directions. The original corbelled parapet above the ground and the wallhead has been lost, leaving only the corbels remaining at the top.
