Description
The garden walls of Abbey House in New Abbey are likely from the 18th century and are built from rubble with ashlar coping. These walls enclose the garden and connect at the north end to Abbey House. At the west side, there are two small sheds with square plans and pyramidal roofs; one is inside the enclosure while the other is outside. The gabled shed at the southeast incorporates two reused moulded stones as lintels, one of which is initialled T.S.-MM, likely originally a marriage lintel. In front of the house, a low wall curves towards chamfered square gatepiers and rises towards the east to connect with the gable of an outbuilding.
