Huntly Hotel, 18 The Square, Huntly

The Huntly Hotel, located at 18 The Square in Huntly, is a late 19th-century building constructed from coursed granite with extensive sandstone dressings and a bull-faced granite base course. It is two storeys high, featuring a prominent three-storey corner block that rises to an octagonal turret with decorative brattishing. The building has four bays on both the Square and Castle Street elevations.

A near centre doorway on the Square side is recessed under a wide depressed arch and is flanked by polished granite engaged columns. There are string courses above the ground and first-floor windows, an eaves cornice, and bipartite windows on the ground and first floors. The roof includes five gabletted dormers that rise through the wallhead, two wide wallhead gables with apex stacks, and corniced stacks. The roof is finished with slate and has a tiled ridge crest.
