Bank Of Scotland, 1 John Street, Dalbeattie

The Bank of Scotland, located at 1 John Street in Dalbeattie, is a late 19th-century building. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure made of bull-faced granite, featuring polished window margins. The central doorway is basket-arched and showcases rusticated long and short work with a bold keystone. The entrance includes a recessed double-leaf door topped with a fanlight. On either side of the door are bipartite windows with a cornice, and the windows are sash and case with plate glass glazing. The first floor has single light sashes with four-pane glazing. The building also has corniced axial stacks with octagonal cans and slate roofs. To the right side, there is a single-storey flat-roofed extension, and at the rear, there is a two-storey extension.
