Description

The Clydesdale Bank, located at 17-19 High Street in Nairn, is a building from the later 19th century. It has two storeys and features three asymmetrical bays, with a door near the center. The exterior is painted harled with contrasting margins and dressings. The main entrance consists of a panelled door topped by a lintel and a stilted fanlight, which is set beneath a heavily bracketed cornice at the base of a corbelled, steeply gabled bay. This bay includes a window with shafted reveals and a stilted head that encloses a crest. To the right of the main entrance is a second door, which is now a window, and in the outer bay, there is a bipartite window above. The left side features bipartite windows on both floors, all with moulded reveals. The building has decorative corbelled eaves and a slate roof.
