Description
30 The Square in Huntly is a building dating from around 1870. It has two storeys and an attic, featuring three bays facing the square and one bay in the return gable, with a rear wing that fronts Deveron Street. The exterior is made of painted granite. The original shop front includes a central door flanked by windows, while the first-floor windows are set beneath segmentally arched stilted segmental arches with a continuous hood mould above. The building is topped with a cornice and has three piended dormers with finials. Additionally, there is cast iron ridge cresting and an angle turret with a conical slate roof, which is corbelled at the first floor on the corner with Deveron Street and features a weathervane.
