37-38 North Drumlanrig Street, Thornhill

37-38 North Drumlanrig Street in Thornhill is a building dating from around 1900. It stands two storeys high with an attic and features four bays, arranged as two pairs. The ground floor consists of two identical shops that share a continuous fascia. The upper part of the building, which is accessed from the rear, is constructed of stugged red ashlar coursers and has sash windows with four panes, set in lugged and stop-chamfered margins. A moulded gutter is supported by shaped brackets. The roof has four canted and gabled dormers, each adorned with ornamental barge boards and a finial, along with straight skews and end and central stacks. The building also includes two full-height, gabled rear wings.
