Description
The Buck Inn, located at 82 High Street in Annan, dates from 1903 and features decorative Renaissance ornamentation. This two-storey building with an attic is constructed of red ashlar, with brick at the rear. The ground floor has three bays, with pilasters, a round-arched doorway near the center, a shop on the left, and a public house on the right that has a possibly original panelled timber front. Above, there are pilastered cross-windows, paired on the first floor, and the wall-head dormers are adorned with pedimented heads and scrolled supports. The building has a central wall-head stack and end stacks, topped by a steep-pitched gabled slate roof with leaded platforms.
