Description
87 High Street in Annan is an earlier 19th-century building that has undergone alterations. The ground floor features modern shops, except for a single column at the northwest angle of No. 83. The building is two stories high and symmetrical, with a five-bay ashlar-faced first floor. The three bays closest to the west have been painted, re-glazed, and re-slated, which has affected the overall uniformity of the façade. There is a band course between the floors, and the second and fourth bays contain tripartite windows with narrow outer lights that are blind. The original small-paned sash windows are located in the two bays nearest to the east (No. 87). The building has straight skews, end stacks, a slate roof, and two shallow dormers serving Nos. 83-85.
