Description
1 Downie's Wynd in Annan is probably an early 19th-century building. It has two storeys and features a three-bay northern elevation facing Conchie's Court, which includes a central door. The western elevation has two bays, also with a door, and is connected to the northern side by a curved bay that contains a shop window. The exterior is finished in stugged ashlar with polished margins.
The building has panelled doors with decorative fanlights and small-paned sash windows, one of which is blind. It features corniced stacks and a slate roof.
Inside, many 19th-century features are preserved, including two fine cast-iron fireplaces, one with gothic detailing, an original timber scale and platt stair, panelled doors set in architraves, and moulded cornice plasterwork.
