Tower Buildings, 7 Station Road, Lockerbie

Tower Buildings, located at 7 Station Road in Lockerbie, is a late 19th century three-storey and attic commercial and domestic block featuring Renaissance ornamentation. The building is constructed of stugged red ashlar with polished dressings. The west-facing canted end has a pair of tall octagonal ashlar flues that rise from corbelled shafts, flanking a steep-pitched facetted slate roof topped with iron finials.

The ground floor is occupied by shops, with the ground level built up to the south at Bridge Street. The first floor features a series of wide openings with depressed arches, timber mullions, and transoms. The second floor has single and mullioned windows set within architraves, with a pedimented window at the west and a stone wallhead dormer above. There are also pedimented bipartite dormers on the north side, and the roof is covered with Westmorland slate.

The canted east wall is adorned with scrolled skewputts and corniced stacks.
