Description
The Black Bull Inn, located in Station Square, Lockerbie, dates back to 1782. This two-storey, L-plan public house may have originally been rectangular in shape, with its gable facing the street. The building is rendered and features painted ashlar margins, dressings, and rusticated quoins. There are two doors situated in the re-entrant angle, each topped with a narrow cornice. The windows are mostly small-paned sashes, and there is a third door in the gable facing the street, accompanied by a large window. Pilasters support a continuous cornice on the ground floor. The building has a moulded main cornice and skew ends, with corniced end stacks, all topped by a slate roof.
