50 Upperkirkgate, 48, Aberdeen

50 Upperkirkgate is an early 19th-century, three-storey building with an attic, part of a stepped row of Classical commercial and residential structures situated on a sloping corner site in Aberdeen. The building is constructed from grey granite ashlar and features eight bays on the north elevation. The ground floor has arcaded round-arch openings, and there is a stepped band course above. The first and second floors have tall, regularly spaced openings, topped by a narrow cornice and a blocking course with metal flashing. The far left corner has a curved bay that returns to a three-bay gable-end elevation. The ground floor has a later shop front, while a door to flatted apartments is located on the far right.

The windows are 12-pane timber sash and case style, with curved glazing in the corner bay. The roof is pitched with grey slate and includes a pair of piended roof dormers on the right. There are broad ashlar gable stacks, clay cans, and cast-iron rainwater goods.

The interior has been partly seen as of 2006 and has undergone alterations.
