Riverside, 25 Bladnoch Village, Bladnoch

Riverside is a house built around 1825, located in Bladnoch Village. This two-storey, three-bay structure is made of rubble with squared granite margins and rusticated granite quoins. It features a central doorway with a fanlight and a well-crafted panelled door. The windows are single light, all sash and case with 12-pane glazing, and have raised granite cills. The building has a good sandstone moulded cornice, sandstone ridge, and skews with slab skewputts. The end stacks are corniced and have octagonal cans, and the roofs are slate. The rear elevation includes a central full-height bay with a modern extension.

Inside, there is good panelled timberwork on the doors and shutters, and a basket-arched pilastered recess in the dining room. The first-floor drawing room showcases a grape and vine leaf plaster cornice. The geometric staircase features square timber balusters.
