Description
Church House is a house built around 1775. It features coursed squared rubble with an ashlar front and painted stone dressings. The slate roof has coped gables and two brick gable stacks. Notable architectural details include moulded eaves, a gutter on brackets, and projecting surrounds around the windows and doors. The building has three storeys plus garrets and a three-window range.
The front of the house has three 12-pane sash windows on the lower floors and three 9-pane sash windows above. To the left, there is a single-storey porch with a stepped coped wall, while to the right, there is an unpainted round-arched doorway with a keystone and imposts, which contains a glazing bar window. There is also a plain doorway with a stone lintel to the left.
On the right gable, there is a tall central round-arched stair window with imposts and a keystone, flanked on the first floor by two single 12-pane sashes. Above, to the right, is a similar sash, and above that, an off-centre 9-pane sash. On the ground floor, to the right, there is a 12-pane sash beneath the stair window, along with a small single-light window and two cellar openings at ground level.
