68A Madeira Street is an early 19th-century, two-storey, basement and attic, three-bay classical terraced house, standing apart from later properties. The building is constructed of cream sandstone with ashlar dressings. The basement and first floor feature stugged ashlar, while the main floor is finished in polished ashlar with a rusticated appearance.

A panelled door is located to the right, framed in a segmental-headed design with a radiating fanlight and flanking panels. Architectural details include a base course, a band course above the first floor, a cill course to the first floor, and an ashlar course below with sunken aprons. The house has a cornice and a blocking course. To the left, there is a canted piend-roofed dormer, and to the right, a skylight. The basement has out-of-line windows and a door.

The windows are plate glass timber sash and case. The roof is covered with grey slates and features ashlar coped skews. The front of the property is adorned with cast-iron spear-headed railings and a handrail leading to the steps.
