Description

Earlier 19th century. 3 2-storey and attic on raised basement 3-bay terraced houses, Nos 51 and 53 a mirrored pair, with doors at centre. Cream droved ashlar sandstone with polished dressings. Dressed rubble basement; base course; cornice (blocking course to No 45/7). Regular fenestration. Dividing and terminal pilaster strips.

Panelled doors with rectangular plate glass fanlights in pilastered and corniced doorpieces (door to right bay of Nos 45/7 and 49). Basement door and single window to each. Piend-roofed dormer and skylight each to Nos 45/7, 49 and 51; pair of tripartite dormers to No 53.

Timber sash and case plate glass windows to No 53 (several tilt and swing replacements in neighbouring properties). Grey slates; coped ashlar stacks; ashlar coped mutual skews.

WALLS AND RAILINGS: low rubble front and dividing walls with saddleback ashlar coping; cast-iron railings, with some spearheads.
