Description

Early 19th century with later additions and alterations. Single storey pair of identical 3-bay classical houses. Painted droved ashlar, polished dressings; harled and blank side elevations; harled extensions to rear. Base course, cornice and blocking course; moulded architraves to windows; raised quoins to each house.

W (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: consoled doorpieces with cornice raised at consoles; modern doors to centre bays of each house; rectangular plate glass fanlights above. Windows to flanking bays; basement window to left bay of No 43.

E (REAR) ELEVATION: later single storey flat-roofed extensions to centre of each.

Plate glass sash and case timber windows to No 43; 4-pane timber sash and case windows to No 45. Slate roof with coped skews dividing and terminating roof. Gablehead stack to No 43; rendered and lined mutual apex stack; rendered gablehead end stack to No 45.

INTERIORS: not seen, 1994.

BOUNDARY WALLS: rubble with coping to No 43; rendered with coping to

No 45.
