25 Pittville Street, Joppa, Edinburgh

25 Pittville Street in Joppa, Edinburgh, is an earlier 19th-century building with single-storey additions at the rear. It consists of a mirrored pair of classical, two-storey, three-bay houses. The front is constructed from droved ashlar with polished ashlar dressings, while the side and rear elevations are made of squared and snecked rubble. Architectural features include a base course, a broad moulded band course, an eaves course, a cornice, and a blocking course, along with aprons beneath each window.

On the principal elevation facing southeast, there are pilastered and corniced doorpieces with Edinburgh panelled doors in the central bays, complemented by plate glass rectangular fanlights and windows on the first floor above. The flanking bays also have windows on each floor.

The northwest rear elevation is partially obscured, but maps indicate a single-storey extension in the central bays. There are 12-lying-pane timber sash and case windows, as well as 12-pane timber sash and case windows at the rear. The roof is a grey slate M-gabled design, featuring ashlar coped end stacks and a coped mutual stack at the roof angle.

The interior has not been seen since 1994, but it is noted that shutters are still in place. The boundary walls are made of droved ashlar with coping and were formerly topped with railings.
