23 Pittville Street, Joppa, Edinburgh

23 Pittville Street is a house from the earlier 19th century, with later additions. It is a two-storey, three-bay symmetrical structure featuring painted droved ashlar with polished ashlar dressings, rubble side elevations, and a harled extension at the rear. The building has a base course, a string course just above the cill level of the first floor, a cornice, and a blocking course, along with corner pilasters.

On the southeast (principal) elevation, there is a pilastered and corniced doorpiece with a deep-recessed, panelled door in the centre, a plate glass fanlight, and a window above on the first floor. Each flanking bay has windows on both floors, with the ground floor windows featuring panelled aprons.

The northwest (rear) elevation is partially obscured, with a two-storey later extension to the left bay, as observed in 1994. The house has plate glass timber sash and case windows and a piended slate roof with two wallhead stacks on each side.

The boundary wall is made of droved ashlar with a coping.
