7 Rosefield Avenue, Portobello, Edinburgh

7 Rosefield Avenue is an early 19th-century classical house with later additions and alterations. It is a single-storey building with five bays, featuring droved ashlar stonework and polished ashlar dressings, while the side elevations and rear are constructed of rubble. There is a wood board single-storey extension at the rear, along with a base course, cornice, and blocking course.

The principal elevation faces west, with a slightly advanced central bay. It has two steps leading up to a deep-set panelled door at the centre, which is flanked by original cast-iron handrails. Above the door is a plate glass rectangular fanlight, and the door is framed by a pilastered doorpiece. On either side of the central bay are windows with moulded architraves.

The rear elevation, facing east, features a later extension to the left of centre, with windows on this side.

The west elevation has plate glass timber sash and case windows, while the windows are 12-paned timber sash and case types. The extension has timber windows with upper sections that have rounded heads. The roof is piended and covered with slate, featuring a square rendered wallhead stack to the north and a rubble wallhead stack with render to the south.

The interior was not seen as of 1994. The boundary walls consist of square render with coping at the front and a tall harl-pointed rubble wall at the rear.
