9 Rosefield Avenue, Portobello, Edinburgh

9 Rosefield Avenue is an early 19th century, single-storey house that has undergone later alterations and additions. It is part of a wider terrace and features a classical rectangular plan with three bays. The front is finished in painted and droved ashlar, while the side elevations and rear are made of rubble with droved ashlar dressings. There is a wood board extension at the rear. A broad band course runs between the ground floor level and ground level, complemented by a moulded impost course at the window lintels, a cornice, and a blocking course.

The principal (west) elevation has all openings set within segmental-arched recesses. There are three steps leading up to a deep-set door, which may be modern, with original cast-iron handrails. Above the door is a rectangular plate glass fanlight, also set within a segmental-arched recess. Windows are located in the flanking bays.

On the rear (east) elevation, there is a wood board gabled timber extension to the left of centre. The front elevation features plate glass timber sash and case windows, while the rear has 12-pane sash and case windows. The roof is piended slate, with a rubble wallhead stack to the north and a harled wallhead stack to the south.

The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 1994. The boundary walls are rendered with moulded coping, and there are tall rubble walls at the rear.
