Description

15 Rosefield Avenue is an early 19th-century, single-story classical house with a basement, forming part of a three-bay end of terrace. The building features finely droved ashlar with polished ashlar dressings, while the rear extension and southwest elevation are harled, and the northeast elevation is constructed of rubble. Notable architectural details include a band course between the ground floor and level, a moulded impost course, a cornice, and a blocking course, with every opening set in segmental-arched recesses.

The northwest (principal) elevation is symmetrical, featuring four modern steps leading to a field-panelled Edinburgh door at the center, topped by a rectangular plate glass fanlight. There are windows flanking each bay, along with vents for the basement. The southeast (rear) elevation has a large extension at the center.

The principal elevation has 12-pane timber sash and case windows, while the rear features plate glass timber sash and case windows. The extension's southwest elevation includes two glazed two-leaf doors with plate glass rectangular fanlights above. The roof is slate piended with a platform at the apex, and the extension also has a slate piended roof. The northeast elevation has a rendered and coped wallhead stack, while the southwest elevation features a harled and coped wallhead stack.

Inside, the main house has been remodeled due to an outbreak of dry rot, but the rear extension retains a fine decorative compartmented plaster ceiling dating from around 1840. The boundary wall is made of droved ashlar with modern moulded concrete coping.
