5 Rosefield Place, Portobello, Edinburgh

5 Rosefield Place is an early 19th-century classical house with later alterations and additions. It is a single storey building with a half-basement and features three bays. The exterior is constructed of droved ashlar with cement repairs and polished dressings, while the side elevations are made of rubble. There is a band course between the basement and ground floors, a cornice, and a blocking course, along with a moulded architrave.

The principal elevation faces northeast and has four steps leading up to a deep-set modern door located in the central bay, which is slightly off the true centre. Above the door is a rectangular radial fanlight, with windows in the flanking bays and air vents to the basement.

The southwest (rear) elevation was not seen in 1994, but there is an extension to the outer left. The building features plate glass timber sash and case windows and has a slate piended roof. There are harled and coped truncated wallhead stacks to the northwest and southeast.

The interior was not seen in 1994. The boundary walls are made of rubble with coping at the front.
