Description

1786-92. 3-storey and attic, 9-bay classical former tenement. Droved cream sandstone ashlar. Ground floor built out as shops; extra storey with further attic to 4 N bays (with flagpole). Common stair at centre. Mutuled eaves cornice. Corniced tripartite box dormer above common stair; 2 piend-roofed dormers to left (1 bipartite); pair of bipartite box dormers to N.

Timber sash and case windows; 12-pane to S (lower plate glass sash at 1st floor), plate glass to N. Ashlar coped skews; stack removed to S; rendered stacks at centre; corniced stone stacks to N; grey slates.

INTERIOR: shops modernised. Modern access to tenement stair; many alterations to incorporate lift and offices.
