Description
77 Rose Street in Edinburgh is a building constructed by 1780, with earlier 19th century shops. It is three stories tall with an attic and features three bays. The exterior is made of rubble, which is dry-dashed and painted at the ground level. There are two shopfronts with very simple pilasters at the ground floor, and a common stair door is located to the right. The second-floor windows are positioned hard under the eaves. At the center, there is a bipartite dormer flanked by single dormers. The building has a two-bay return gable with a single bay wing to the north.
The windows are timber sash and case with 12 panes. The building features ashlar coped skews, a rebuilt and rendered stack, and is topped with grey slates. The interior was not seen in 1995.
