Description
1786-92. 3-storey and attic, 3-bay classical tenement with shops at ground on corner site. Droved cream sandstone ashlar with polished long and short quoins. Ground floor built out as 2 shops, incorporating half-raised basement; at centre panelled door to upper floors with consoled segmental pediment and festoon in frieze, above large plate glass fanlight, built en suite with shop to left; modern glazed canopy, canted at corner, to right shop. Moulded cill course at 1st floor, banded cill course at 2nd floor; eaves cornice. Pair of later 19th century canted piend-roofed dormers.
Rubble gable with 3 bays to right; shop at ground to right.
12-pane timber sash and case windows (1 with plate glass at 1st floor). Ashlar coped skews; rendered stack to S, stone to N; grey slates.
INTERIOR: converted to retail use at ground. Cavetto moulded original doorway survives in situ; straight corridor to common stair at rear; flat to each floor.
