Description
The lodge and gates at Kingston Grange on Gilmerton Road in Edinburgh were built around 1815 to 1825 and feature a single-storey gothic design. The building has two windows and a central porch with a pediment. It is constructed from ashlar stone with chamfered angles and has a low-pitched, broad-eaved piended roof. The lodge includes twin octagonal center shafts and three-light mullioned and transomed windows with depressed arches. There is a prominent arched doorway adorned with tracened spandrels, rounded and featuring three mouchettes in the pediment. The entrance is flanked by octagonal gothic gatepiers, with convex screen walls and square terminal piers.
