Description
Style of Hippolyte Blanc, circa 1900. Single storey and attic, 3-bay villa with single storey, 1 bay recessed flat-roofed wing adjoining E gable later converted to a garage with enlarged opening and timber doors. Relatively plain to road; rear elevation more elaborate. Coursed red sandstone with ashlar margins and dressings, base course, cornice, blocking course. Timber sash and case windows, predominantly 6-pane glazing pattern. Ashlar skews to mansard roof with grey-green slates, moulded ashlar stacks, rounded to front and rear as semi-engaged colonnettes. S ELEVATION: 3 windows at ground floor with flower motif in panel to lintel. 3 stone dormers dormers rising above wallhead at 1st floor, outer bays triangular pedimented with finials, centre bay with semi-circular pediment. Recessed porch adjoining W gable, moulded & pedimented surround, panelled door.
N (REAR) ELEVATION: coursed rubble with 2 advanced, polished ashlar piended bays extending through both floors, canted at ground with 4-light windows, stepped string course above with moulded panel; bays corbelled to square in substantial wallhead breaking eaves above, with advanced pedimented and finialed ashlar dormers to attic with bipartites. Iron finials to piend roofs.
BOUNDARY WALLS: low ashlar coped squared rubble wall with wire mesh fence to road, rubble coped rubble wall to garden at rear.
