Lodge, Craigend Park, Kingston Avenue, Edinburgh

The lodge at Craigend Park on Kingston Avenue in Edinburgh was designed by Frederick Pilkington between 1867 and 1869. This single-storey building is arranged in an L-shape and serves as a lodge for Kingston House, which is listed separately. It features round-arched openings, a low-pitched roof with broad eaves, and decorative barge-boarding on the gables. The exterior is constructed from rock-faced pink sandstone with cream dressings and a band course. There are modern extensions added to the northeast and southwest.

The windows are made of plate glass set in timber sash and case frames, and the roof is covered with grey slates. The lodge is topped with tall stacks that have cushioned tops and cylindrical cans.

The boundary wall surrounding the property is made of random rubble with a rubble-coped finish. It includes tall ashlar gatepiers that feature blank shields and shaped caps.
