Description
The lodge at Robertland, built in the later 19th century, is a single-storey, three-bay structure designed in a Classical style. It is located at the entrance drive to Robertland House. The building features droved, squared, and snecked sandstone with raised, smooth ashlar margins, a base course, an eaves band, and a cornice. The south elevation has a central advanced pedimented doorpiece with a moulded architrave and a replacement entrance door. The windows are non-traditional top-opening types. The lodge has a piended roof covered with grey slates and corniced wallhead stacks with decorative cans.
The interior has been comprehensively modernised, as seen in 2008.
Flanking the drive are a pair of tall square-plan gate piers, along with smaller pedestrian gatepiers. These are made of ashlar and feature a base course, cornice, and overhanging swept pyramidal capstones. The gates are modern metal.
