Description

Earlier to mid 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay symmetrical classical former farmhouse and farm with flanking single-storey wings to N, forming U-plan; walls with gatepiers forming courtyard. Currently vacant, 2008. Droved, coursed, sandstone to front elevation (S), with painted rubble to rear and wings. Base course, raised cills, cornice, raised quoin strips to outer bays.

FURTHER DESCRIPTION: FRONT ELEVATION (S): slightly advanced central bay with deep recessed non-traditional part-glazed entrance door. Rear elevation (N) largely blank with single stair window to centre and to right at ground.

Wings with boarded and sliding boarded doors, arrow-slit openings skylights. 3-holed pigeon port with straight landing ledge to N gable. Single-storey slated outbuilding adjoining to NW.

Predominantly non-traditional windows. Piended roof to farmhouse with graded grey slates; some corrugated metal roof covering to wings. Some raised skews and skewputts. Coped wallhead stacks, some cans missing.

BOUNDARY WALLS: to S: remains of tall rubble boundary wall to S with swept coping, enclosing former garden. To N: rubble walls with pair of square-plan capped gatepiers.
