55, 57, 59, 61, 63 Broughton Street, Edinburgh

55, 57, 59, 61, and 63 Broughton Street is a classical tenement building dating from 1800. It is a five-storey structure with a basement, arranged in seven bays, and is situated on sloping ground. The building is constructed of sandstone ashlar, although the ground level has been covered with modern render. It features a fascia band, an eaves band, and projecting cills.

The principal elevation has five round-arched bays at the ground level, with four round-arched entrances located in the 2nd, 5th, 7th, and 8th bays from the left. The upper floors display regular fenestration, with the centre bay windows blinded for symmetry. The windows are timber sash and case with 12-pane glazing. The roof is covered with grey slates and includes gablehead and ridge stacks topped with terracotta cans. Additionally, there are cast-iron railings at the ground level.

The interior was not seen in 1998.
