35-37 Broughton Street, Edinburgh

35-37 Broughton Street is a classical tenement building from 1800, featuring three stories, a basement, and an attic. It has five bays and is constructed from sandstone ashlar. The building includes a string course at the ground level, a band course between the floors, and a cill band at the first floor with projecting cills above. It also has an eaves cornice, a blocking course, and ashlar steps leading to entrance platts that oversail the basement.

The principal elevation faces west and showcases round-arched recessed bays at the ground level, with entrances that have fanlights in the central and outer right bays, while the remaining bays contain windows. The upper floors have regular fenestration, and the attic features three piended dormers along with roof lights.

The windows are timber sash and case with 12-pane glazing, and the roof is covered with grey slates. The gablehead and pitch stacks are corniced and rebuilt, topped with terracotta cans. Decorative cast-iron railings complete the exterior. The interior was not seen in 1998.
