6, 8, 10 Hope Street, Edinburgh

6, 8, 10 Hope Street is a classical tenement building dating from around 1790. It stands three stories high with an attic and basement, featuring seven bays. The exterior is made of droved cream sandstone ashlar with polished dressings, and the ground floor has V-jointed rustication. The eaves cornice adds to its classical style.

The central common stair bay is slightly recessed and is flanked by main door flats that have round-headed tripartite doorpieces, each adorned with radiating timber fanlights in the inner bays. To the left, there is a broad four-light box-dormer, while to the right, there are canted pairs with piend roofs.

The windows are 12-pane timber sash and case. The building has ashlar coped skews, grey slate roofing, and rendered stacks.

The property features spearhead cast-iron railings. The interior was not seen in 1995.
