Description

41 Broughton Street is a classical tenement building dating from 1809, attributed to Robert Burn. It is a three-storey structure with an attic and basement, featuring five bays and constructed from sandstone ashlar. The building is situated on sloping ground and includes a base course, a fascia band, and projecting cills at the first and second floors, along with a band course between these levels and an eaves band.

The west elevation, which is the principal facade, has a modern shopfront at ground level. There are entrances located in the penultimate bays on the left and right, with windows in the central and outer bays. Above, the fenestration is regular, with dummy windows in the penultimate bay on the left. The roof features tripartite piended dormers on both the right and left sides, along with a rooflight.

The windows are timber sash and case with 12-pane glazing. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are gablehead stacks with terracotta cans. The property also has cast-iron railings. The interior was not seen in 1998.
