Description
- 3-storey with basement and attic with some shops at ground, 5- by 9-bay, obtusely angled classical corner tenement. Droved sandstone ashlar. Band courses between floors, projecting cills, mutuled eaves cornice and blocking course.
S (FORTH STREET) ELEVATION: 5-bay projecting mutule corniced shopfront to 3 bays to right with entrances with fanlights, in 1st and outer bays, tall windows to centre bays. Rusticated bays to left with windows in round-arched recesses and impost band. Regular fenestration above with piended tripartite dormer above.
W (BROUGHTON STREET) ELEVATION: 9 bays at ground, grouped 3-1-5 on falling ground, 3-storey with basement and attic to 5 bays to right, 4-storey and attic to left. Recessed entrance bay to left of centre. 4-bay corniced shopfront to left; entrance with fanlight to right of centre, plate glass windows to bays remaining. Entrance with small-pane fanlight to outer right and tripartite with decorative round-arched fanlight to 3rd bay from right each with ashlar steps and entrance platts oversailing basement, windows to remaining bays. Regular fenestration above, 2 tripartite and 2 single, piended dormers.
Timber sash and case with 12-pane glazing; grey slates, ridge stacks with terracotta cans, decorative cast-iron railings.
INTERIOR: not seen 1998.
