Description

Circa 1840. 2-storey, 9-bay, rectangular-plan, gabled, classical tenement with shops at ground. Yellow ashlar sandstone, channelled at ground. Base course, dividing band between 1st and 2nd storey, eaves course, projecting cornice, blocking course. Shouldered moulded architraves to upper storey windows.

NW (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: regular fenestration to upper storey. 3-bay, symmetrical shop front at ground to far left; panelled door to 4th bay; asymmetrical shop front to 5th and 6th bay; panelled door with projecting keystone to 6th bay; 2-bay asymmetrical shop front to outer right.

SE (REAR) ELEVATION: not seen 200.

NE (SIDE) ELEVATION: obscured by abutting building.

SW (SIDE) ELEVATION: obscured by abutting building.

INTERIORS: modern shop fittings to ground, tenements upstairs not seen 2001.

12-pane, sash and case windows to upper storey, plate glass to ground. Grey slates, lead flashing. Broad, coped gable stacks. Cast-iron rainwater goods.
