Description
1, 2, 3 Roseneath Street is a four-storey, five-bay tenement built around 1875 in the Scots Baronial style. The building features squared and snecked sandstone with polished ashlar dressings. It has a base course and a corbel table at the third floor, which steps down to the second floor in the inner left and right bays. The design includes crowstepped gables, roll-moulded doorways, chamfered reveals, and finialled pediments.
On the south elevation, there is a central doorway with a hoodmould, flanked by doorways and single windows in the inner left and right bays, all featuring panelled doors and plate glass fanlights. The outer left and right bays have full-height canted windows that are corbelled to square at the gableheads, adorned with inset floral paterae. The elevation also includes dividing cornices and square blank tablets above the first-floor windows. The central bay has mullioned and transomed bipartite windows at the first and second floors, with a semi-circular floreate moulding above the second-floor window. The third-floor bipartite window breaks the eaves in a pedimented dormerhead, while the remaining bays have single windows, with third-floor windows also breaking the eaves in pedimented dormerheads.
The building features four-pane and plate glass sash and case windows, a grey slate roof with lead flashing, rendered mutual stacks, moulded cans, and beak skewputts.
The interior was not seen in 1990. There is a low saddleback wall to the street.
