Description

12, 14, and 16 Warrender Park Road is a Baronial tenement built around 1878. This four-storey building features six bays and is constructed from squared and snecked sandstone with polished ashlar dressings. It has a base course and a corbel table at the third floor, which steps down to the second floor at the third and fourth bays. The windows have chamfered reveals.

The northern entrance elevation has three architraved doorways at ground level, separated by bipartite windows. The deep-set panelled doors are topped with plate glass fanlights. To the outer left, there is an advanced round tower set in a re-entrant angle with the neighbouring building at 2-8 Warrender Park Road. This tower features bipartite windows on all floors, with an additional single window at ground level. The fourth floor has a window that breaks the eaves in a pedimented and finialled dormer head, which includes a circular patera inset and a conical roof topped with a cast-iron weathervane finial.

On the outer right, there is a full-height canted window that is corbelled to a square in a crowstepped gablehead, also featuring a floral patera inset. The inner right bay has bipartite windows, with a fourth-floor window breaking the eaves in a pedimented dormer head that has a thistle finial and a circular patera inset. The inner left bay contains single windows, with a third-floor window breaking the eaves in a finialled pedimented dormer head. The remaining central bays have single windows, topped by a crowstepped gable, with a blank tablet between the bays at the third floor and a bracketed semi-circular pediment set in the gablehead.

The windows are plate glass sash and case, with the ground floor of No 12 painted and featuring bipartite windows. The roof is covered with grey slate and has coped and rendered gableheads and mutual stacks.

The street is bordered by a low saddleback wall. The interiors were not seen in 1990.
