6 Sutherland Street, Helensburgh

6 Sutherland Street is a villa built in the later 19th century. It is a single storey and attic structure with a symmetrical three-bay design, featuring ornate cast-iron columns. The exterior is made of squared, stugged, and snecked cream sandstone, with ashlar dressings and a base course. The canted windows have timber mullions, and the building displays stop-chamfered arrises and a cornice.

On the west elevation facing Sutherland Street, there is a segmental-arch doorpiece at the center with moulded reveals, two-leaf panelled doors, and a fanlight above. Canted windows flank the entrance, with the eaves swept down to form a porch supported by decorated columns with foliate designs. Above, large slate-hung dormers with gablets are present.

The villa has unfortunate modern replacement windows, and the grey slate roof has had its stacks removed.
