School House, School Road, Kilcreggan

The School House on School Road in Kilcreggan is a post-1865, two-storey, three-bay symmetrical villa with an L-shaped main block and single-storey service blocks at the rear. The exterior is harled with sandstone margins and dressings, featuring a base course, quoin strips, projecting eaves, and exposed rafters.

On the main elevation, there is a pilastered and corniced door at the center, which is covered by a later 19th-century chevron-boarded porch with a lead pagoda roof. To the right of the door is a lower replacement boarding, with flanking windows. The outer left and right have dormerhead windows, while the center window features a taller gablet, with eaves supported by sandstone consoles on either side.

The north elevation has a blank gable on the outer left, with a recessed jamb to the right and windows at the ground and first floor on the outer right, framed by brick margins. The south elevation includes a gable on the outer right, with windows at the ground and first floor at the center, and gabled single-storey service blocks with a half-piended block against the gable.

The building has 12-pane timber sash and case windows, a grey slate roof with lead flashings, harled and coped apex stacks, and octagonal cans, along with ashlar console skewputts. The interior was not seen in 1993.
