Description
Wellbank is a farmhouse dated 1854, featuring two storeys and a three-bay rectangular design, with a single-storey service wing at the rear. The building has lying-pane sash and case glazing throughout, constructed from rubble masonry with ashlar dressings and a slate roof.
On the south elevation, there is a central door with a rebated doorpiece and pediment, along with a plain transom light. The ground floor has two windows, while the first floor has three, all with chamfered margins and slightly advanced cills, topped by an eaves cornice.
The east and west gables each have two windows on both the ground and first floors, with shouldered and coped stacks.
The north elevation features a border glazed and coloured stair window, along with the single-storey service wing that has a gable and a brick-heightened stack. The west elevation of the service wing has three barred windows. There is an adjoining walled yard to the east with gates to the north and east, which are dated 1854 at the top centre of the east wall.
Additionally, there is a bothy located to the northeast of the house, which has a rectangular plan, constructed from rubble with a piend slate roof.
