Description
The Summer House at Gagie House, formerly dated 1762, is a single-storey, rectangular-plan structure designed in the Renaissance style. It is situated next to a lower garden wall and constructed from buff ashlar sandstone, with rubble on the sides and rear, topped by a stone slate mono-pitched roof.
The front elevation features two open, keystoned round-headed arches supported by Doric pilasters. It includes impost blocks, a triglyph frieze, and a dentilled cornice. Above, there is a three-course parapet attic with Aberdeen bond masonry, which is flat-coped and adorned with three rectangular banded ball finials on plinths. A datestone is located at the center, although the date is partially obscured.
The side elevations have flat-coped skews, with the left side being blank and the right side featuring a window and a small opening.
