Description
The walled garden at Gagie House dates back to the early 17th century, while the sundial is dated 1766.
The walled garden forms three sides of a rectangle adjacent to the south of the house and was originally part of a defensive barmkin built around 1614. It is constructed from drystone coursed rubble and features some remaining moulded coping stones and shot holes. There are two entrance gates, one of which has a round-headed stone gabled overthrow. A later, lower wall with railings connects to the house at the northwest.
The sundial consists of a baluster-shaped moulded ashlar column set on a plinth, with a metal dial that is currently stored in the house and is dated MDCCLXVI.
