Description

Early 19th century. Single storey, attic and basement, built on falling ground, long rectangular-plan group including cottage with saw mill/joiner?s workshops attached. Pink and buff rubble sandstone, partly harled and mostly whitewashed with grey and purple slate and corrugated asbestos roof. Windows mostly 4-pane sash and case, and top-hopper; end and ridge stack with thackstanes.

E ELEVATION: 3-bay cottage at left with half-glazed door at centre,

2 slate-hung timber gable dormers, attic window to left return gable;

3 bays at far right with boarded door at centre, stone forestair to boarded door at basement right, piended roof; single storey lower wing at right with window at left and 2 doors at right, asbestos roof; further bay stepped down at outer right with door and piended roof.

W ELEVATION: 3 irregularly disposed windows to harled cottage at right, 2 windows at left, window at left return gable; window and blocked window at stepped down wing at left with further low bay at far left, both partly masked by advanced mono-pitch roofed addition.
