Hearse House, Angus Folk Museum, Kirkwynd, Glamis

The Hearse House at the Angus Folk Museum in Kirkwynd, Glamis, is an early 19th-century single-storey building with a rectangular plan, originally used as a hearse house. It is constructed from rubble with dressed ashlar quoins.

On the northeast elevation, facing the courtyard, there is a wide two-leaf door at the center, with an additional door in the bay to the left and a window to the outer left. To the right of the center, there is another window followed by two doors, all of which are boarded timber.

The southeast elevation, which faces Kirk Wynd, features a gabled design with a large two-leaf boarded timber door. The building has timber sash and case windows with a 12-pane glazing pattern, and it is topped with grey slates. The coped ashlar stacks have cans, and the bargeboarding is plain.

To the northwest, there is a reconstructed four-bay cartshed and granary. The property is enclosed by coped rubble boundary walls.
