Townhead Primary School, St Andrew Street, Brechin

Townhead Primary School, located on St Andrew Street in Brechin, is an early 19th-century mansion that features two storeys and a basement, along with a single-storey and basement wing. The front facade has three windows and is constructed of ashlar stone, with rusticated quoins. The central doorway is highlighted by painted anta pilasters, a fanlight, and a flyover stair. The windows on both the ground and first floors are architraved, with those on the ground floor also featuring cornices and aprons. At the eaves, there is a main cornice blocking course. The rear stair tower wing has two windows and a similar design, but without the quoins. The roofs are slated and piended at the wing, and the original glazing remains intact.
