Description
40 Cullen Street in Portsoy is a cottage built around 1810. It is a single storey and attic structure with a wide single bay that projects from and is linked to the west return gable of No 38 Cullen Street. The exterior is harled. The doorway is located in the east gable at the re-entrant angle with No 38. There is a small off-centre window on the ground floor, and a later 19th century canted dormer with a swept roof. The windows are timber sash and case with plate glass and 4-pane glazing. The cottage features a coped end stack, a modern Velux rooflight, flat skews, and a slate roof with pottery ridge tiles.
Additionally, there is a garden wall on the west side of the garden plot, which is made of rubble.
