Marine Villa, 38 Cullen Street, Portsoy

Marine Villa is a late 18th century, two-storey house with a dormerless attic, slightly set back and flanked by single-storey cottage wings at Nos 36 and 40 Cullen Street. The exterior is harled with rendered reveals and features small windows, which are slightly larger in the outer bays on the first floor, all with 4-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows.

A canted oriel window, dating from around 1820, projects above the central door and is supported by two slender cast-iron columns. The window is slate hung and features a segmental-headed lintel, with segmental-headed detailing on the upper lights of the fixed 9-pane centre window and 6-pane outer windows. The roof is piended and slightly bellcast, covered with slate, and includes a diminutive gable centre attic light, coped end stacks, flat skews with run-off skewputts, and a sandstone ridge.

At the rear, the garden is enclosed by a rubble garden wall.
